Local theaters are offering low-cost summer movie series for kids, but AMC is opting out this year. The chain announced it has canceled its annual “Summer MovieCamp” because of declining turnouts — fewer than 25 moviegoers at some screenings. Families can still catch free or bargain-priced flicks at these theaters:
See 10 films for $5, if purchased in advance, or pay $1 per show. Movies start at 10 a.m. and noon Mondays through Thursdays.

•July 18-21: “Ramona and Beezus”
•July 25-28: “Megamind”
•Aug. 1-4: “Yogi Bear”
•Aug. 8-11: “How to Train Your Dragon”
Purchase a season pass (eight shows) for $13 or pay $2.50 per show. Seven theaters will show some of the following films at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays from June 13 to Aug. 4 (each theater has a different schedule):
