I’m going to see if I can get through this post without falling asleep. It’s a post about the children’s board game, Candyland, and I … I … zzzzzzz. Oh. Uhh, Candyland.
Okay, the writers of Kung Fu Panda 2, Jonathan Aibel and Glenn Berger told Entertainment Weekly at the Kung Fu Panda premiere that they want to write a movie based on Candyland. They don’t think it will be boring because, well, they don’t say why but it surely must be because they’ve never played the game that requires no strategy (unless you count finding ways to get out of playing a full round of this game that feels endless).
The two want a movie of Candyland to be more Lord of the Rings like, which is a great goal because the board game should be more Lord of the Rings like — or more like anything other than what it is. Except Chutes and Ladders, which is also like putting one’s brain on ice for an indefinite period.
